With a nose of toffee, dried apricot, cocoa powder and rancio, this is classic off-dry amontillado. It feels fresh and active, then tastes rich and moderately sweet, with flavors of hazelnut, caramel, toasted banana, orange and spice. Nutty and smooth on the finish.
For affordable amontillado, this is downright excellent. Smells nutty and oily, maybe a touch sharp, but well within normal parameters. Feels fresh, round and comfortable, with lots of core fruit flavor, nuttiness, sweet toffee and caramel. Finishes with toasted pecan flavors and peanut butter notes. Semidry in style.
Lovely amontillado that opens with honeyed citrus and molasses aromas. The palate is round and balanced, with toasty notes accenting honeyed peanut and apricot flavors. Big and lively late, with a finish of toasted walnut, peach skin and more. Totally convincing for fans of dry Sherry.
This is sweet Amontillado in fine form. The nose is centered around a core of molasses and brown sugar, while the palate bubbles with maple and toffee. Yes, it’s a sweeter-styled Amontillado, but the sugar fades on the palate, leaving only the complex residue of caramel, espresso and burnt cinnamon. A lovely wine for any fan of serious Sherry.
Pristine aromas of caramel, orange peel and leather are both powerful and pure. Flavors of toffee, cinnamon, cheddar cheese and raisin are first-rate, while the sum of the parts is brightened and heightened by perfect acidity. A fine Amontillado that should please anyone with a fondness for good Sherry. Imported by CIV/USA.
Rich and pure, with warm saddle-leather aromas as well as scents of toffee and hard cheese. The palate runs sweet and rich, with plenty of brown sugar and spice galore. As a whole it’s a rather forward and approachable wine that might lack some complexity but not exuberance.
