Demoted in 1996, losing its classed growth status, the Despagne family set to work to get back on top, which was achieved in 2006. By 2004, they were on a roll, making a powerfully rich wine, with a good texture, spice from the Cabernet Franc, and some firm, dark tannins, layered with wood.
