Expert Reviews

Almost exclusively Pinot Noir, this is a deeply colored, full-bodied wine, rich and crisp in strawberries, lees and vanilla. A touch of Chardonnay adds a refreshing note of lime. Delicious and easy to like, especially at this price.

Made largely from Pinot Noir, this bubbly has rich flavors of cherries, yeast and smoke. Ten percent Chardonnay adds a lemony brightness. Drink now.

This bubbly charms with cherry and raspberry flavors and a touch of limes and vanilla. It’s nice and smooth in the mouth, with a creamy mousse. Showing real finesse and elegance, this sparkler will be delicious with raw tuna.

Pinot Noir has given this bubbly a full-bodied richness that smacks of red cherries. It’s a dry wine, a little sharp and angular, but maintains a distinguished creamy mouthfeel.

A great big waft of cherries erupts from the glass, signaling a fruity wine, which indeed this bubbly is. Its full-bodied flavors have a nice yeasty, doughy quality, and the wine is fully dry, although somewhat rough in texture.

There’s lots of strawberry and vanilla flavor in this dry wine. It’s a bit aggressive in the mouth, with sharp elbows, though. Finishes clean and scouring.

What a pretty color, a pale straw with glints of rosy peach skin, and a suggestion of fresh strawberries and cream on the nose. Drinks smooth and rich, a lively, full-bodied sparkler with firm acidity.

This pale pink sparkler smells pretty, with it's intriguing scents of oranges, McIntosh apples, vanilla and cream. But the flavors are simpler and soft, lacking delineation and focus.

Sweet pink grapefruit and cherry aromas and flavors abound in this Sonoma pinkster. Fizzy and soft, it tastes slightly sweet and low in acidity. Ends with decent length, and is better for near-term easy drinking. Will be enjoyed by those who don’t enjoy dry, crisp bubblies.
