In some vintages Primus, a blend of Merlot, Cabernet and Carmenère from the cool Casablanca Valley, seems up there in ripeness. In other years, 2005 for instance, the wine struggles for a fresh outlook and instead comes across soupy and strange. Try as it might, this wine seems a little green, grabby and not quite there.
