Ballantine’s Finest Blended Whisky

Medium amber hue. No frills, one-note nose is well endowed with intensely grainy, cereal-like scents, but no hints at all of wood, smoke or peat. Blatantly sweet, bordering on syrupy, in the mouth at entry; midpalate is sugary and flabby. Aftertaste is fat and sugary sweet. Use as a mixer. Pedestrian, but drinkable.  — P.P.  (12/15/2002)
