Dalwhinnie Distiller’s Edition 1990 Double Matured/Oloroso Sherry Cask Finished Central Highlands Single Malt Scotch Whisky

  1. $65
Aromas of marshmallow, cotton candy and toffee. The palate entry features a dry, malty and slightly honeyed profile; at midpalate the honey intensifies, making the flavor almost bittersweet but long in the throat. Finishes drier and malty.  — P.P.  (8/1/2006)

Dalwhinnie 2001 Pyrenees Shiraz (Australia)

  1. $49
The Dalwhinnie offers sexy aromas of fresh whipping cream, anise and blackberry. Wooly tannins, and flavors are of ripe blackberries. Warm on the finish, but still an alluring wine. Imported by Click Wine Group.  — D.T.  (8/1/2005)

Dalwhinnie 2002 Moonambel Cabernet Sauvignon (Victoria)

  1. $50
Smooth and inviting, with black plum fruit at its core. Aromas are deep and dark, yet aren’t overt at this young stage. Feminine in style; not a wine for tannin or acid hounds, to be sure.  — D.T.  (10/1/2006)

As you’d expect, buttery, oaky accents are present on the palate, too, but its core is bright and citrusy. Folks who like a Chard with plenty of creamy fluff on its bones may find this score stingy. Imported by Click Wine Group.  — D.T.  (5/1/2005)

Dalwhinnie 15 Year Old Central Highlands Single Malt Whisky

  1. $42
Opening aroma is assertive, dry, with peppery scents of barley husk, grainy oil and cracked wheat wafer; seven more minutes bring out a mildly sweeter, slightly vanilla bean, brown rice-like side. Palate entry is pleasantly prickly, textured and moderately sweet; at midpalate, the taste profile turns stunningly sappy and resin-like. Finishes dry to off-dry and…  — P.P.  (4/1/2004)

Dalwhinnie 2000 Chardonnay (Australia)

  1. $54
Where there’s butterscotch and vanilla on the nose, you can bet that it will follow on the palate. There’s quite a bit of it, too—toast and butter—with hints of yellow fruit losing its footing in the process. Fans of the style will find our rating conservative.  — W.E.  (7/1/2004)
