Jepson Rare Mendocino Alambic Brandy

  1. $35
Begins smelling of toasted pine nuts and linseed oil in the initial sniffings and then heady notes of beeswax, burning rubber, rubber pencil eraser and lard are added. The palate entry displays subtle notes of cocoa oil and lignin; at midpalate the flavor profile becomes raisiny, dried fruit-like and even a touch buttery. Finishes delectably oily and uncomplicated.  — P.P.  (5/1/2005)
