Some spritzy bubbles and a yeasty flavor confirm that this is quite young and fresh, certainly the best time to enjoy it. The color is almost translucent, the flavors running lightly from celery to apple to melon, but this 100% varietal wine is quite well made and nicely defined.

Reserve is rarely a word found in front of rosé, but here it seems meaningful. The 82% Merlot and 18% Grenache complement each other nicely. Cherry-pie tartness with a bit of sweet blueberry flavor make for a full-bodied, round and bone dry rosé that’s substantial and delicious.

Half Viognier and half Roussanne, this is indeed vivacious. Tart and peppery, it marries an herbal component to bright apple and citrus notes, with a hint of orange rind.

How this producer squeezes 15.6% alcohol levels out of its Cabernet is a fair question. Despite the implied concentration, this hard and steely wine shows tight cassis fruit wrapped in smoky, coffee, barrel flavors.
