Adolf & Heinrich Fuchs 2001 Classik Trocken Gruner Ventliner Grüner Veltliner (Burgenland)

  1. $13
The fruit on the nose is reminiscent of hedgerow fruits—blackberries, alpine strawberries, plums and blueberries. The palate is very green with high acidity and light, fresh fruit flavors. The final impression is of a fresh, crisp wine, with just a touch of pepper.  — R.V.  (11/1/2002)

Adolf & Heinrich Fuchs 2003 Sauvignon Blanc (South Styria)

  1. $20
Smells much like a bowl of freshly made fruit cocktail: there’s apple, pear, citrus and kiwi. Spicy melon with hints of green herbs control the palate, while the mouthfeel is rich and chewy. Quite heavy and sweet, but good if you aren’t looking for a lot of zest. Imported by Vignaioli.  — W.E.  (7/1/2005)

Adolf & Heinrich Fuchs 2001 Classik Trocken Sauvignon Blanc (Südsteiermark)

  1. $13
A simple, tank-fermented Sauvignon Blanc with crisp, grassy fruit and herbaceous aromas. The flavor is ripe fruit, structured with a layer of tannin and grassiness. Gooseberries and tropical fruit vie for attention on the finish.  — R.V.  (11/1/2002)

Adolf & Heinrich Fuchs 2001 Classik Trocken Chardonnay (Südsteiermark)

  1. $13
A fat style of Chardonnay, with creamy fruit on the nose and some acidity. Green, crisp, citrus fruit flavors and green plums contrast with a layer of fatness.  — R.V.  (11/1/2002)

Adolf & Heinrich Fuchs 2003 Reserve Grüner Veltliner (Burgenland)

This is something of a curiosity, a Grüner Veltliner which has been matured in wood. It gives the wine extra spiciness and intensity of flavor, although some of the pepper character of the grape is lost in the process. This wine is big, ripe and full. Imported by Austrian Specialty Wine Company.  — R.V.  (5/1/2005)

Adolf & Heinrich Fuchs 2003 Classic Welschriesling (Südsteiermark)

A clean, fruity wine, with flavors of red currants, green plums and a good layer of fresh acidity. This is attractive and easy-drinking, showing just what can be done with Welschriesling. Imported by Austrian Specialty Wine Company.  — R.V.  (5/1/2005)

Adolf & Heinrich Fuchs 2003 Classic Gelber Muskateller (Südsteiermark)

The Gelber Muskateller has a long tradition in Styria, where this wine comes from. It is a great apéritif drink, with its racy, fragrant character, and ripe, heady perfumes. This example is well-balanced, with a good touch of acidity to keep it fresh. Imported by Austrian Specialty Wine Company.  — R.V.  (5/1/2005)

Adolf & Heinrich Fuchs 2003 Chardonnay (Südsteiermark)
