Albada 2001 Garnacha (Calatayud)

  1. $12
Easy and open, with ample berry fruit on the casual nose. Cherry and red plum flavors run a touch sour, but at least it isn’t overly sweet and manufactured. A warm, spicy finish is a touch rough, but overall the wine is solid.  — M.S.  (12/31/2004)

Albada 2000 Garnacha (Calatayud)

  1. $8
Big and fruity, with sugary cherry fruit and a big, aggressive finish. The acidity here is abrasive as it sears your tongue. In the end, you almost feel a shock as you drink this overdone wine that tastes more like a powdered fruit drink than fine wine.  — M.S.  (10/1/2003)
