A perfect collaboration between two celebrated Tuscan estates, this plush wine is stacked tall with pretty aromas of cola, sweet spice, root beer, clove, toast and forest fruit. There’s harmony and elegance here and the wine takes on marvelous shape in the mouth where it builds in intensity.

Here’s a beautifully executed 50-50 blend of Merlot from Avignonesi and Sangiovese from Capannelle with soft layers of cherry and blackberry packed tight between spice, cola and mesquite. The wine imparts a sense of wholeness and fullness thanks to its firm tannins and smoky aftertaste. Pair it with roast pork with wild rice and mushroom cream sauce.

Careful winemaking has saved this blend from the hot vintage, preserving its vibrant aromas of red fruit, lavender flower, blueberry and almond. In fact, the wine manages to be delicate in fragrance and approach. Drink now.

First things first, the wine is from Avignonesi, and it’s a 50-50 blend of Sangiovese and Merlot. In terms of power, the Sangiovese drives the boat, while the Merlot navigates. Aromas of tar, bacon, plum, and oak are strong. In the mouth, zingy cherry and plum flavors are supported by gritty tannins. Lots of fruit and power; firm as a rock.
