The fruit, from Walla Walla’s great Morrison Lane Vineyard, is flat out sensational. Co-fermented with a generous 6% Viognier, it’s a gorgeously aromatic Syrah. Whiff after whiff mixes mineral, bacon fat, wild berry and citrus rind; once in the mouth the flavors rainbow out harmoniously, elegant and constantly shifting.

All Dwelley Vineyard Merlot, with 9% Cab Franc and 6% Cab Sauvignon. Lots of pretty barrel toast and dense purple and black fruits, mixed with spicy vanilla/clove. Tannins are silky smooth, supple and powerful, and the wine really kicks it!

Compelling aromas and flavors show a generous amount of toasty oak, dappled with the ground coffee highlights that you find in ripe Cab Franc. Lovely purple fruits, compelling, tight, tart flavors, racy and supple, with juicy fruit/berry flavors, fine tannins, and a smooth, supple, lengthy finish.

The winery’s first Cab, this is made from a blend of Pepper Bridge and Bacchus fruit, with a smattering of Red Mountain Merlot. Tarry, smoky, dark and dense, it shows supple fruits and superb concentration. Black cherry, ripe berry and espresso are wrapped together, with whiffs of fresh-cut tobacco.

This is dusty, fragrant, peppery, and lush with ripe fruits—berries and cherries and even a whiff of mango. Delicious through a long, lip-smacking finish.

Lovely aromas, with the depth and dimension that old vine (30-year-old) Riesling can produce. This is ripe, round and well-defined, and packed with stone and citrus fruits, especially grapefruit. Great natural acidity and balance.

This is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 10% Syrah. Deeply fruity, dark and juicy, with huge berry flavors, but there is more to it—the flavors dig deeper, going into earth and spice and olive and toast. The fruit is the star here, and it’s amazingly young and still primary. Where will this go? It’ll be fun to find out.

This is a gorgeous wine, so good in fact it makes one wonder why Sauv Blanc hasn’t yet become a superstar grape for Washington. Lush tree fruits, preserved lemon, Satsuma orange and highlights of honeysuckle and citrus oil keep the wine moving and changing. It simply fills the mouth with luscious flavor.
