Quite as good as the excellent ’07, maybe even better, as it shows a little more structure behind the raspberry and cherry flavors. Tastes really good, a silky, spicy and dry wine that’s a pleasure to drink. What a shame how little Pinot is actually grown in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

A beautiful wine, from a winery that’s piling up an impressive track record. Made from all five classic Bordeaux varieties, this 07 shows the balance of the vintage, with gorgeous tannins and focused characteristic of a mountain vineyard. The blackberry and black currant flavors have a firm minerality. Best now for its soft lusciousness, and should hold in the…

With juicy acidity to balance the richness, this is a fine coastal Pinot to have with lamb, beef, salmon and such. It offers a burst of cherries, black raspberries, currants, sweet rhubarb pie, mocha and spices, with considerable oak, but that savory acidity gives it a racy finish. Now–2013.

A beautiful Cabernet-based Bordeaux blend, albeit a very young one that would be a shame to drink too early. The score indicates its current drinkability, but that could heighten over the next 6–8 years. Shows a very firm tannic structure, with luscious black currant flavors that grow richer as the wine warms up in the glass.

A racy, clean and pure Pinot Noir that shows succulent flavors of raspberries, cherries, oranges, cola, smoky vanilla, cloves, pepper and cinnamon, wrapped into a lightly elegant texture. Marked by considerable acidity, the wine should hold and modestly improve for up to six years.

This is a rich, ripe, forward Viognier, with flashy bursts of peaches, pears, tropical fruits, honeysuckle, vanilla, buttercream and toasty oak. It straddles the dry-sweet border, with a good burst of acidity. Pair it with pork in a chutney sauce.

Flirts with being too oaky, but steps back at the last moment, allowing the toasty vanilla and caramel to accent, not overwhelm, the exotic tropical fruit and spice flavors. Comes across as flamboyant, but balanced. A wine to watch.

This could be crisper. It’s a little on the soft side, which gives it a melted, candied feeling. But there’s no question that it’s a delicious wine. It just floods the mouth with pineapple custard, lemon, pear, vanilla, honey, almond cookie and crème brûlée flavors.
