Big, rich and extremely impressive given the price; this wine competes with and beats some Riberas that cost five times more. It’s textured, deep, silky and layered, with integrated berry, plum and cassis flavors. Packed and generous all the way to the finish; drink now or cellar for up to 10 more years. From 80-year-old Tempranillo vines.

Rather hard and lightly grassy on the nose, with a green streak running through blueberry aromas. The palate is narrow and strained for a wine of this price, with rhubarb, red plum and grass-influenced flavors. Has qualities but doesn’t fully click. 5,000 cases made.

Chunky and fruity on the nose, with a blast of red berry and especially burnt coffee. The palate comes on as fresh and lively, but sort of bland at its center. Flavors of red fruit lean toward medicinal and pickled, while the finish is driving and zesty. Drink now.

Heavily roasted on the nose, with rustic aromas of leather, olive and baked berries. The palate is fiercely tannic and low on sweetness; it runs sharp, lean and salty, with a hollow finish and tang. Two samples tasted.
