Bonacchi 2005 Sangiovese Grosso (Brunello di Montalcino)
Ripe berry fruit and plump tones of cherry liqueur, blackberry and cassis open the nose of this dark and concentrated Brunello. There’s also a hint of wet earth or wild mushroom and the wine is rich and smooth on the finish, with tart cherry flavors.

Bonacchi 2008 Sangiovese Grosso (Brunello di Montalcino)
Bonacchi’s “annata” Brunello delivers elegance and brawn with thick aromas of ripe fruit, tobacco, leather and blackberry. The wine exhibits a rich and straightforward style with pulpy dark flavors, a velvety texture and a bright point of sour cherry on the close.

Bonacchi 2007 Sangiovese Grosso (Brunello di Montalcino)
Big and bold, but a bit disjointed aromatically. Ripe fruit and pipe tobacco vie with a fine note of graphite or lead pencil. It seems soft, with a touch of sweetness, but crisp tannins. Give it a few more years to unwind. Finishes thick and chewy.
