Bosquet des Papes 2003 Chante le Merle Vieilles Vignes Red (Châteauneuf-du-Pape)

  1. $50
Named after a corner of the vineyard where blackbirds (merles) sing, this is a wine made from old vines, 80–90 years old. It is huge, dry and very tannic at this young stage. But just wait for it to open out into its full glory of packed black fruits, and superb concentration. Imported by Monsieur Touton Selection Ltd.  — R.V.  (12/31/2005)
