On the plus side are ripe, exotic flavors of peaches, white chocolate, sweetened coffee, vanilla and cotton candy. There’s also a burst of bright acidity. One quibble is the texture, which is thick and syrupy. Some will find it delicious.

Pretty expensive for a Sierra Foothills Zin. Yes, there are exuberantly ripe flavors ofblackberries and cherries, and spices like cinnamon, white pepper and allspice provide a palate wakeup. But it’s a rustic wine, with jagged tannins and a bitter finish.
