Cedergreen Cellars 2008 Old Vine Chenin Blanc (Columbia Valley (WA))

Very pale, with light scents of nail polish, melon and peach; it’s no threat to Vouvray, but an honest effort, with some pretty floral sweetness, though finished dry.  — P.G.  (9/1/2009)

Cedergreen Cellars 2006 Riesling (Columbia Valley (WA))

From Evergreen vineyards. This is all stainless and rather sweet, touching 4% residual sugar. Despite that, the underlying acids keep the wine reasonably crisp and buoyant. Flavors of cotton candy, strawberry lollipop and sweet watermelon make this a perfect summer sipper.  — P.G.  (9/1/2007)

Cedergreen Cellars 2006 Merlot (Columbia Valley (WA))

Firm, with herbal flavors of olive and some interesting violet/floral highlights that carry into lightly plummy fruit and chocolate. After a promising start, the flavors quickly tail off, and the wine finishes smooth but muted.  — P.G.  (9/1/2009)

Cedergreen Cellars 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon (Columbia Valley (WA))

More color, scent and fruit than the Cedergreen Merlot, but it comes down to a fairly simple red wine with some volatility and alcoholic heat in the finish.  — P.G.  (9/1/2009)

Cedergreen Cellars 2006 Old Vine Chenin Blanc (Columbia Valley (WA))

It’s uncertain how old this “old vine” fruit actually may be. Barrel-fermented in neutral oak puncheons, this is a rather soft, neutral white wine, that could pass for a Trebbiano or something similar. There’s a hint of almond along with some alcoholic burn in the finish, which nonetheless retains a crisp aftertaste, but otherwise there is not much flavor.  — P.G.  (3/1/2008)
