Ceja 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley)

Strong and a bit blunt now, showing an immature profile of smoky new oak, red and black berries and stone fruits. The tannins are chunky and clunky, giving a rather rustic mouthfeel. Should knit together in the bottle after 2012.  — S.H.  (3/1/2010)

Ceja 2002 Syrah (Sonoma Coast)

Big disagreement over this wine, with West Coast Editor Steve Heimoff lauding it for its balance and ripe black cherry flavors, while Tasting Director Joe Czerwinski found it a bit vegetal (green bean).
