Cerraia 1996 Sangiovese (Vino Nobile di Montepulciano)

Unfortunately this is not the cleanest-smelling red you will come across, and for that it gets demerits. But it does come forth with bright red fruit, especially cherry. It’s also a bit acidic. The definition isn’t really here, yet the light oak on the finish is pleasant.  — M.S.  (9/1/2000)
