Here is a huge ripe and luxurious wine, with great power. The texture is solid, filled with firm tannins, the flavors are black and ripe. Along with the power, though, is much of the elegance and poise that characterizes great Saint-Julien.

This is a marvelously complete wine, with its impressive ripe fruit, shining through the open structure. It is firm, but not too much. Stone black fruits are just perfectly ripe. There is just a core of dryness to compliment the rest of the wine.

This is opulent, but with restraint. The fruit is rich, black and delicious. Touches of spice and wood are present, lending complexity to the ripe fruits and balanced tannins. Impressive.

Very supple wine, with great richness and density. It is all so complete, a pleasure, powerful yet also with sweet opulent fruits layered with dark tannins. For long-term aging.

This rich, full wine shows the chateau to be at the top of its form. It’s finely balanced, pushing both its fruit and acidity, with the tannins taking the supporting role. With its power leashed, this shows the stylish side of Saint-Julien, although it will certainly age for many years.

93-95 Barrel sample. A huge, generous, opulent wine, with cedar aromas, a touch of toast and immense black fruits. And it still keeps a delicacy and elegance: very Saint-Julien .

93-95 This has a very fresh character, its acidity a tonic of black currants and berries. The tannins are underneath all this delicious freshness.

93–95. Barrel sample. Full of ripe Cabernet tannins, this is a structured wine that’s chunky in character. It elegantly balances fruit and structure, resulting in a wine that’s sure to be impressive.
