The wine has some weight, dominated by dry tannins and a dark edge of black currants. For a 2005, it is surprisingly light, but the elements of ripe fruit and balancing acidity are there, even if the tannins and wood still dominate.

A thin wine, with tight stalkiness and smoky, dry tannin flavors. It certainly is fresh, the acidity very marked, black currant fruits bedded into the tannins.

All tannin, this wine is missing fruit, although the acidity hints at some fading freshness. It is tough and dry, not offering much real pleasure.
