Château Dutruch Grand Poujeaux 2010 Red (Moulis-en-Médoc)

  • Cellar Selection
From the Poujeaux section of Moulis, Dutruch Grand Poujeaux is still family-owned and -inhabited. This is deliciously fruity and the juicy black-currant flavor is firmly balanced by ripe, generous tannins. A concentrated wine that will certainly age well.  — R.V.  (2/1/2013)

Ripe, elegant wine, balancing fresh currant and red plum fruits against a mineral, dry structure. The acidity, the pure fruits and the solid tannins all work harmoniously together.  — R.V.  (6/1/2009)

89-91 Barrel sample. Spice and sweet fruits, a delicious wine, already soft and approachable. Only a hint of tough tannin suggests aging.  — R.V.  (8/9/2010)

Big and dense, now developing well, the wine shows richness and complex fruit flavors as well as spice and dusty tannins. Licorice and dark chocolate go with damson plum flavors, never losing sight of the final juicy acidity.  — R.V.  (12/31/2010)

Deeply embedded in firm tannins, this is a wine for aging. There is plenty of mineral, black currant and plum juice fruit, with a fine juicy element as well as acidity. It is balanced and harmonious, a keeper for 5–6 years.  — R.V.  (12/31/2010)
