Château Kefraya 1997 Red (Bekaa Valley)

  1. $23
Very earthy, with notes of cinnamon and cassis. Ripe blackberries, spice and white pepper play out on the palate. Tannins are big and crushing but the fruit holds up in this well-balanced wine.  (11/15/2002)

Château Kefraya 2000 La Dame Blanche Chardonnay (Bekaa Valley)

  1. $13
A slightly oxidized oloroso-like nose with yeasty, ripe banana notes. Sun-dried apricots and roasted nuts on the palate. A light-bodied wine lacking a little acidity with a very short finish. A blend of Clairette, Ugni Blanc and Boiurboulenc.  (11/15/2002)
