An entirely pleasing wine that is fun to drink. Dry and full of character, with requisite (for Bordeaux) dry, leafy flavors and smooth tannins. Plummy and smooth, with a smoky dry-wood element. Some sweetness, but hardly what you’d call lush. Overall it’s tasty and lightly fruity.  — M.S.  (12/31/1999)
