Château les Ormes 2010 Red (Saint-Julien)

  • Cellar Selection
  1. $115
From one of the few Saint-Julien properties that are not cru classé, this nevertheless shows all the class of the appellation. It has ripe black-currant and berry flavors, laced with acidity and dry, dense tannins. Its richness is still developing. This has considerable aging potential.  — R.V.  (2/1/2013)

Château les Ormes 2009 Red (Saint-Julien)

  • Cellar Selection
  1. $80
One of the few Saint-Julien chateaus that is not a cru classé, les Ormes has had a fine success in 2009. The wine has good density, a very poised feel. It has black fruits, firm, dark tannins and fresh acidity. With its structure and complexity, it will age for 6–8 years and more.  — R.V.  (2/1/2012)

Château les Ormes 2008 Red (Saint-Julien)

  1. $72
Dusty tannins and juicy fruit reveal the great freshness of the wine. While it does not have great density of flavor, it does have plenty of forward fruit, smoky flavors and black currant acidity. For the medium term.  — R.V.  (2/1/2012)
