Developing well, this rich and intense wine has all the pleasures of 2005. The tannins are a firm hint along with the sweet, smoky berry fruits and ripe acidity. It is structured, dense and elegant, a great success for this château.

91–93. Barrel sample. Rich and soft, this wine has fine acidity and sweet black fruits. It has a good depth of rich flavor, and a palate that’s rounded and smooth. The tannins show a velvet character.
A quarter century of improvements have made their positive mark on the wines of Marquis de Terme, as revealed in this 2001. It is a generously opulent wine, with its richness and soft tannins, but the spice, the dryness and ripe acidity give it structure and balance. It has good aging potential, but, with its richness, could be drunk now.
Juicy, though a little on the lean side, this wine shows a strong flavor of black currant while its tannins are holding back. However, this vintage’s firm structure demonstrates the considerable investment in the chateau in the past few years.
