Developing well, this rich and intense wine has all the pleasures of 2005. The tannins are a firm hint along with the sweet, smoky berry fruits and ripe acidity. It is structured, dense and elegant, a great success for this château.

91-93 Delicious initial fruit is followed by dense swathes of tannin. Concentrated wine that has all the weight without any sign of bitterness. The aftertaste brings back the delicious opening.

91–93. Barrel sample. Rich and soft, this wine has fine acidity and sweet black fruits. It has a good depth of rich flavor, and a palate that’s rounded and smooth. The tannins show a velvet character.

A quarter century of improvements have made their positive mark on the wines of Marquis de Terme, as revealed in this 2001. It is a generously opulent wine, with its richness and soft tannins, but the spice, the dryness and ripe acidity give it structure and balance. It has good aging potential, but, with its richness, could be drunk now.

Juicy, though a little on the lean side, this wine shows a strong flavor of black currant while its tannins are holding back. However, this vintage’s firm structure demonstrates the considerable investment in the chateau in the past few years.

88-90 Barrel sample. Spicy, juicy, a wine that has some good depth of flavor, even though the texture is lightweight. More juice than structure.

88-90 Barrel sample. New World in style, almost too opulent and ripe, with the wood a distraction. This is for lovers of extreme juiciness.

Immediately attractive, even if not showing much density, this wine floats by on fresh red currant and berry fruits, soft tannins and a mouthwatering, juicy close.
