Château Pibran 2009 Red (Pauillac)
A richly smoky wine, with all its juiciness surrounded by dark tannins. Despite a dominance of Merlot, this is still intensely structured. The wine has so much richness as well as acidity.

91-93. Barrel sample. This wine shows dense fruit and concentrated tannins. It has richness without great complexity; but it boasts spice, fresh fruit and tingling acidity.
Château Pibran 2004 Red (Pauillac)
One of the properties owned by insurance giant AXA, and under the same management as Château Pichon Longueville, this estate is making some impressive wines. The 2004 is modern, concentrated, polished, and dominated by intense, juicy fruits and new wood.
Château Pibran 2008 Red (Pauillac)
A rounded wine, surprisingly soft for a Pauillac. The tannins are ripe, with chocolate and sweet black currant fruit flavors along with spice and some toast.
Château Pibran 2002 Red (Pauillac)
This is classic Pauillac, packed with black currant fruits and dark tannins. The lighter vintage has given the wine freshness and elegance, but there is still solidity and denseness. One of the properties owned by the AXA insurance group, this estate has taken its place among the top crus bourgeois.
