From Happy Canyon, now an official appellation, one of the best and most delicious Bordeaux blends to emerge from that warmer area. It’s exuberant in black cherry and raspberry flavors, accented with sweet, smoky oak, and defined by smooth, rich tannins. Instantly drinkable, and a brand to watch. The winemaker is Doug Margerum.

An absolutely delicious wine. It’s like a fine Pinot Noir in the silky texture, yet deeper and bolder, almost Grenache-like, in the blackberries, cherries and currants, with tangy notes of oranges and vanilla. Dry and richly tannic, this is one of the few Sangioveses that’s perfectly ripe and eminently drinkable. Drink now.

Shows the exoticness of Viognier, with crisp acidity and a dry minerality that gets the tastebuds whistling. The lime, quince, apricot, white flower and woodspice flavors finish with the tart briskness of a Sauvignon Blanc, only more opulent.

This wine is a bit rugged in texture, with firm tannins, but flavorful with ample blackberries, currants and spices. The blend is based on Cabernet Sauvignon.

This is a very ripe, fruity Syrah, rich in raspberry, blueberry and cherry jam flavors, with hints of bacon and pepper. The acid-tannin balance is lovely, making the wine easy to like now.

This is a super-fresh, fruity wine meant to dazzle in sheer deliciousness now, not something to age. It’s almost candied, with raspberry, cherry, blackberry and mocha flavors that are exuberant and easy to understand.

This Bordeaux blend with a little Syrah is easy and fruity. It has jammy, sugary flavors of raspberries, cherries, mint candy and vanilla.

Sharp acidity gives the cherry flavor cut; the finish is dry and clean. It’s a simple wine for drinking with easy fare, like a pizza or a great cheeseburger.
