Clary Ranch 2006 Pinot Noir (Sonoma Coast)

An interesting Pinot that’s not without its problems, but has lots to recommend it. Clary Ranch 2006 Grower's Reserve Shazzam! Syrah (Sonoma Coast)

The name suggests the Aussie Shiraz style of this richly fruity Syrah. It offers a mouthburst of juicy raspberries, blackberries, cherries, cocoa, bacon, licorice and sandalwood, wrapped into firm tannins. Drink now, with rich fare, like BBQ or a holiday smoked ham.  — S.H.   Published 12/31/2009
