The winery’s Kit’s Killer is a dependably good Cabernet, almost always showing lots of richness and complexity. They raised the price by $2 since last vintage, but it’s still a very fine wine, with delicious blackberry, currant and licorice flavors, wrapped into smooth tannins. Drink over the next few years.

Feels vital and refined, from the classic aroma through the gorgeous tannins to the long finish. Seriously good Napa Cabernet, brimming with blackberry, black currant and cedar flavors that get more complex as they breathe. Nice now, and should develop over the next 6–8 years.

A dark, big, gutsy wine, full-bodied and dry, and filled with ripe, exuberant flavor. Blackberries, cherries, cassis and smoky oak flood the mouth, bright, delicious and complex, and with a very long finish. This is a serious Cabernet Sauvignon that will evolve in the bottle, but is fine to drink now.

A powerful Zinfandel, this is dry and balanced. It’s classic Napa Valley, with ripe fruit and superb tannin structure. It floods the mouth with flavors of blackberry, black currant, cedar and licorice, with touches of spices ranging from pepper to cloves and cinnamon. Terrific with lamb shanks over creamy, baked polenta.

Give this Zin credit for sheer volume. It’s black in color, hard in tannins and amazingly concentrated in blackberry and currant fruit, with all kinds of spicy, licorice nuances. So big, so bold, it’s almost a food group of its own. Not particularly subtle, but wants to be paired with richly sauced beef, poultry or game dishes.

This is a very good wine. Made from Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petite Sirah and Syrah, from around the state, it’s absolutely dry, rich in tannic structure, and complex, with cherry, berry, tobacco, cedar and spice flavors. An excellent and versatile food wine, at a great price.

A gorgeously perfumed, dry and lean white, this is light, crisp and bright, with just the right level of viscosity to pair with cheese, charcuterie or spicy chicken. Like those foods, it has a jolt of spice between its layers of lychee and clove flavors.

Intricate flavors of blackberries, cherries, raspberries and honey-nut granola mark this deliciously dry wine, spiced with exotic cinnamon, star anise and pepper. It’s very good, although it could have a firmer structure. Ready now.
