Clos d L’Obac’s dessert wine is the perfect Spanish take on recioto d’Italia. Aromas of licorice, dried cheese, balsamic vinegar and tight-grained oak create a complex bouquet, and the palate doesn’t disappoint. Cinnamon and clove notes dress up the raisiny fruit, and later on there’s anisette and leather. Best with an aged cheese after dinner.  — M.N.  (3/1/2003)
