This barrique-aged Nebbiolo from Sardinia won’t be mistook for Barolo. It’s richer, friendlier and softer. But even with that concession it’s still got some nail-like tannins. The flavors, meanwhile, are precise, and the balance is there. It’s got structure and bold flavors. All in all, it’s a fine discovery that’s worth more than a look. — M.S. (12/15/2003)
