No, there are no dogs involved in this, apart from the label picture. The name comes from the parcel of hillside vines. It’s a soft, ripe and rich wine, a veritable velvet parcel, all fine tannins and richness, along with fresh acidity. Give this wine two years before drinking.

A concentrated wine, showing minerality as well as rich and solid tannins. The red cherry and strawberry fruits are already well integrated into the structure of this dark-hued wine. The name refers to the tufa (limestone and chalk) soil that is typical of much of the central Loire.

Firm, full-bodied wine, the estate wine of Domaine de la Noblaie is rich in its dried fruit, red berry and solid structure. While it is still young, the wine has weight and the definite potential to age.

This wine is dense, flavored with black cherries and fresh acidity over a smooth, silky texture. It is not as powerful as the 2003, but is ready to drink; a pleasurable, very food-friendly wine.

Lightly smoky, aromatic wine, with flavors of black berry fruits, spice, dry tannins and some wood. This has delicate, juicy dark fruit flavors, tempered with this dry undertone. To finish, there is lively acidity.

A bright, fruity style that shows red berry fruits along with attractive perfumed tannins. This is already an approachable wine, just structured enough to give the juicy fruit a backbone.

A creamed apple note that is shot through with perfumed acidity and lemon juice. It has an edge that is crisply herbal, adding texture to this cool-climate, though rich, wine.

There aren’t many white wines made in Chinon. But this, made from Chenin Blanc, suggests there should be some more. It is full of attractive peach flavors, with a young, fresh lift, floating with bitter almonds. The texture is good, round and rich.
