Yes, it’s pricey for a Côtes-d-Rhône, but it’s also excellent, and worth cellaring for a year or two prior to consumption. Beefy, leathery scents add hints of clove and cinnamon, while the flavors include plenty of black cherry and plum fruit. Young and tannic right now, but the potential is obvious on the wine’s long, fruit-driven and spice-accented finish. — J.C. (11/15/2006)
