A glance at the beautiful purple-blue robe and a whiff of the silky, seductive nose, and you know you have arrived in the promised land of “true” Burgundy. Young, tangy and tasting almost like a barrel sample, it nonetheless displays both power and finesse in a tight, textured, sculpted package. An earthy, roasted component lengthens the finish.

Here is a big, bold, full-throttle wine that might almost have come from one of the top Yamhill County wineries. Jammy and ripe, the fruit is loaded with extract, and the nose augmented with scents of resin and spice. Young, edgy and tannic, it seems designed for immediate pleasure more than long-term cellaring.
