Domaine Jean Foillard 2006 Côte du Puy Gamay (Morgon)

  1. $29
Puy means a hill, and the steep slopes of the Côte du Puy offer great exposure for the vines. The result is a densely structured, very muscular wine that shows richness as well as dark tannins. The aftertaste is sweet, streaked with acidity.  — R.V.  (9/1/2008)

Domaine Jean Foillard 2006 Cuvée Corcelette Gamay (Morgon)

One of the best vineyards in Morgon, Corcelette has produced a delicious, ripe, intense wine. The fruit is sweet, almost jammy in its richness, just touched by smooth wood. A fine, smooth wine.  — R.V.  (9/1/2008)

Domaine Jean Foillard 2007 Côte du Py Gamay (Morgon)

This is a great glass of fruitiness, all red berry flavors, sweetness and softness. It has density at the same time, coming from the concentrated, ripe fruits. This is a pleasure of a wine, the only hint of aging potential coming from soft tannins and final acidity.  — R.V.  (11/1/2009)
