Located in Turckheim within the Alsace boundaries, Domaine Zind-Humbrecht Winery was established in 1959. While the marriage of Léonard Humbrecht and Geneviève Zind led to the creation of Domaine Zind-Humbrecht, the Humbrecht family has a history of winegrowing since 1620. Today Léonard and Ginette, as well as Olivier (the first French Master of Wine) and Margaret Humbrecht all help run the operations at Domaine Zind-Humbrecht Vineyards. Domaine Zind-Humbrecht wines are produced using primarily Riesling, Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris and can range from dry and light to sweet and luscious. There are 10 vineyards owned by Domaine Zind-Humbrecht, 4 of which fall under the Grand Cru designation, that yield approximately 15,000 cases of wine annually. It is the wines from these Grand Cru vineyards that are typically found atop our Domaine Zind-Humbrecht ratings.
