Dutton-Goldfield Winery was founded in 1998 when longtime colleagues and friends Steve Dutton and Dan Goldfield decided to join forces. A fifth-generation farmer, Steve’s father Warren Dutton had begun growing grapes in the western reaches of Russian River Valley in the mid-1960s. Steve began working with his father when he was five years old and joined Dutton Ranch full-time in 1987. Dan graduated from UC Davis with an M.S. in Enology in 1986 and gained winemaking experience with stints at Robert Mondavi Winery and Schramsberg according to our Dutton-Goldfield reviews. Today, Dutton-Goldfield wines are produced using exclusively Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Zinfandel and Syrah grapes and are some of the most revered in the Russian River Valley according to our Dutton-Goldfield ratings. Their plantings span over 15 different Dutton-Goldfield vineyards in the cool climate growing area of the Russian River AVA.
