Meat, bacon and plum skin aromas are followed by dense, ripe tannins, piled on by black, solid fruits. This is a powered, intense wine, with superrich fruit, but encased in dry tannins.

Always an impressive wine, this latest Reserva of Conde de Vimioso is deceptively smooth, packed with ripe and juicy black fruits. It’s deceptive because under the velvet surface there are powerful tannins at work. The result is a wine for aging over several years.

This maturing version of the Conde de Vimioso, reveals old-fashioned, tarry, licorice flavors that are well balanced and enjoyable. A blend of Trincadeira, Aragonês, Touriga Nacional and Cabernet Sauvignon, it seems to be dominated by the first two, warm southern grapes, which give a generous, ripe character and a rich aftertaste. Imported by Aidil Wines & Liquor Inc.

Opulently rich and velvet, this is a dense and very concentrated wine. It has the tannins, but they are almost overwhelmed by gorgeous ripe fruit, with sweet spices and acidity. Drink now.

A finely balanced wine, uniting toast and wood flavors with ripe plums in a harmonious whole. There are spice, soft tannins and light acidity. Elegant rather than powerful, this is an excellent food wine.

Complex and dense, this has a dry, firmly tannic structure, with rich black-fruit and dark chocolate flavors. Spice and wood notes surface on the finish.

A stylish wine, with mineral tannins and a dusty texture. It is cool, elegant and with a tight layer of acidity. There’s plenty of firm structure, with berries and sweet fruit to finish. Age for 2–3 years.

With its tight tannins, this is a very structured wine, its juicy black fruits already well integrated into the dark texture. It tastes powerful because it is so concentrated. At the same time there is elegance.
