This blend of Syrah, Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon is sultry and sexy—like a club dancer. Flashy, brash, deep in color and big in flavor, this has flavors of wild berry, chocolate and cola, with a toasted note. An incredibly ripe wine.

Dense, earthy and rich upfront, with bold black plum and berry flavors that hit the right chords. Feels slick, deep and polished, with blackberry, cassis, coffee and coconut flavors that feed into a simmering finish that runs for miles. An excellent blend of Cab, Malbec and Syrah to drink now and over the next five years.

After picking yourself up off the floor having digested the price, the wine is excellent but not otherwordly. Sweet, dense and calm on the nose, with alluring black fruit and raisin aromas. Feels hefty and gritty, with rooty, sweet flavors of brown sugar and baked blackberry. Finishes round, big and smooth, with generally good balance. 120 cases made; drink now…

Dark in the glass, this has a moderately complex nose, with notes of black fruit, leather and spice. It feels tight, fresh and snappy, but not excessively wide or structured. Flavors of ripe berry and cocoa lead to a solid finish, which has a controlled, smooth feel. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Merlot.

Earthy, complex aromas of tobacco, cedar, herbs, raspberry and currant are intriguing and high in quality. In the mouth, this blend of 60% Shiraz and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon is a bit tannic, with ribald flavors of nutmeg, plum, blackberry and tobacco. For $15, it’s dynamite in terms of intensity and really good in terms of flavors.

Chunky plum, berry and toasty campfire aromas are full and thick on this blend of 60% Malbec and 40% Merlot. The palate is stout and meaty, with pronounced but honest tannins. It tastes charred, with ripe berry, prune and chocolate undercurrents. Loses some of its spunk on the finish.

Argentina’s wines are, it seems, as meaty as its national dishes. This Mendoza Reserva shows roast beef, spice and smoke on the nose, and a full, rich, even mouthfeel. The palate delivers dark oak, blackberry and meat flavors with a healthy dose of black pepper. Finishes dark and peppery, with decent length.

Funky and jumpy, with aromas of candied berry and grass. The palate feels flush, with flavors of sweet berry and plum that are lightly accented with mint. A mix of blackberry and chocolate notes unfurl on the finish.
