Finca La Niña 2009 Chardonnay (Mendoza)

Not bad for basic Argentine Chardonnay. The nose has banana and tropical fruit aromas to go with dried hay, while the soft-bodied palate has enough acidity to keep it flowing. Flavors of melon, banana and vanilla are solid even though it flattens out and shows mild bitterness on the finish.

Young and foxy Malbec with red fruit aromas and a little bit of wet dog. There’s no shortage of freshness and pop on the palate, and the cherry and raspberry flavors are nothing if not racy. Shows a tasty, sweet side but also rudimentary raw materials.
