Lots of yeast and lees at first, but still tight, with apple, peach and melon flavors. Turns more toasty and yeasty as it opens, with a hint of dried herbs. A controlled buttery note makes for a fine final impression. One of Freixenet’s best.

Easygoing and balanced, with cream soda and vanilla aromas setting up orange, tangerine and green apple flavors. Crisp and right on the palate, with flowing acidity. Solid, with a touch of green herbs. Imported by Freixenet USA.

Dry on the nose, with soda cracker, seltzer, candle wax and lime. The palate is active but settled, with a nice, normal mix of apple and lime flavors. Long, dry and crisp on the finish. Good for seafood and salty tapas.

Crisp as it should be, with fit aromas of apple, fresh lettuce and honey. The palate is crystal clear in its delivery of lemon, apple and green banana, while the finish is vivacious and runs the distance. Quite satisfying and fairly serious given its under-$15 provenance.

This is always a really good buy among rosé sparklers and a personal favorite in the Best Buy category. It opens with red fruit, vanilla and yeasty aromas, but it’s racy, crisp and refined in the mouth, with nectarine, peach and controlled citrus flavors. It’s dry, spicy and fairly smooth on the finish.

This is slightly smoky, toasty and yeasty up front, with a touch of matchstick to the nose. Rich, sweet tasting and candied on the palate, it has baking spice, apple and honeydew flavors. It’s tasty throughout and just elevated enough in mouthfeel to earn a few complexity points.

Instantly recognizable in its distinctive black bottle, this perennial favorite shouts “Par-tay!” right out of the glass. Beery, tart and tangy, it’s fine by itself but even better as a mixer bubbly.

Freixenet’s signature Cava is consistent and pure as usual, with aromas of white fruit and white pepper and an overall freshness on the nose. It feels crisp and focused, with a foamy palate that brings apple, lime, peach and spice flavors. The finish is smooth.
