Over the last four decades, Georges Duboeuf winery has become synonymous with quality Beaujolais. In fact, Duboeuf’s extensive presence in the area has earned him the nickname King of Beaujolais, according to our Georges Duboeuf reviews. Born in 1933, Duboeuf was raised on his family’s farm in Creches, France, where they owned a few acres of Chardonnay vines. Dark-hued wine, dominated by acidity as well as firm tannins. It shows solid, chunky structure, ripe fruit and plenty of sweetness. Of course, there is acidity as well, the charm of Gamay coming through in the fresh cherry flavors. Age 2–3 years.

Opulent and generous, this is one of Duboeuf’s most charming wines. That is not to say it doesn’t have structure balanced with the layers of red fruits, but it is the richness allied to a velvet texture that makes it so attractive. Give the acidity six months to calm down, and the wine will be ready.
