An interesting and different sort of Chard marked by aromas and flavors of green apples, guava, nectarine, butter, cream and an elusive mineral quality. It’s a bit prickly and sandpapery on the finish.

Opens with aromas suggesting cured French olives, white chocolate, and cherry, with a tropical fruit note of banana. Flavors of black cherry aren’t bad, and the wine has a nice, gentle but firm mouthfeel.

Strong tannins, the kind that numb the palate, make for a bumpy ride. The flavors are young and tight, of barely ripe blackberries and sweet tobacco. Might soften and improve with a few years in the bottle.
