From 1995, the vecchia annata (old vintage) referred to in the wine’s name, this Sangiovese-based wine shows dried fruit aromas of prune and dried currant backed by licorice, tar and cola. The wine shows nicely aged aromas with some sour cherry and fine, polished tannins on the close.

Mondo Canaiolo is a sort of celebration of the Canaiolo grape (a little-known variety from central Italy). The wine is inky dark in color with aromas of ripe fruit, prune and wet earth. It’s a simple wine but shows nice richness on the close.
