Honeywood Winery NV White Riesling

  1. $14
Oddly, no vintage is indicated anywhere on the bottle. The wine is sweet and grapey, with a honeyed character that carries through the finish. The acids are a bit flat and dull, but chilled down appropriately it’s a decent quaffer.  — P.G.  (11/15/2008)

Honeywood Winery 2006 Pinot Noir

  1. $24

The fruit retains more of its youthful gloss; it’s riper and shows more cherry character, along with bright, spicy highlights. The tannins are proportionate and less earthy and herbal. This is no barn-burner, but it’s a good quaffer.  — P.G.  (11/15/2008)

Simple and blocky, this sturdy Pinot tastes like a throwback to the early days in Oregon. Soft, herbal and tannic, it is the sort of Pinot that one would choose for the most basic comfort foods.  — P.G.  (11/15/2008)

Honeywood Winery 2005 Pinot Noir

The 2005 Pinot Noir from Honeywood is a dead ringer for—guess what!—the 2004 Pinot Noir from the same winery. Soft entry, herbal and somewhat stemmy mid-palate, tannic, slightly hot finish.  — P.G.  (11/15/2008)
