Graceful and decadent, this wine is made by longtime growers now with their own brand. It’s ripe and gooey in black currant, cassis and chocolate, and beautifully structured, with fine, crisp acids and dusty tannins. As good as it is now, it should hold and improve for several years.

The tannins are tough as nails on this 100% Cabernet, so even though it has a beautiful core of blackberries and cassis, it isn’t drinkable now. Such is the purity of the structure that the wine should easily hold its own for 10–12 years, throwing sediment and gathering mellow sweetness.

Opens with a lovely perfume, that sharp, recognizable whiff of ripe Cabernet fruit and toasty new oak. Cherries, cassis, wintergreen, spice and anise in the mouth. Made in a more delicate, elegant style than many others, and so appealing for its silk and satin texture.
