Inacayal 2005 Select Malbec (Mendoza)

Very pretty and appealing. This is a wine we haven’t come across before, but it makes a great first impression. The nose is fruity, rich and smooth, and so is the palate. Flavors of cherry, cassis and raspberry ride comfortably on a loamy, easygoing foundation. And it’s gentle and elegant on the finish. Drink now for maximum balance and vitality.  — M.S.  (2/1/2009)

Inacayal 2009 Torrontés (Mendoza)

An elegant, better-than-most Torrontés with floral, tropical aromas sitting in front of melon, lemon and lychee flavors. The texture and weight suggest melon, and the finish has just the right level of glycerol and grab. Very nice Torrontés that manages to distinguish itself.  — M.S.  (7/1/2010)

Inacayal 2006 Select Malbec (Mendoza)

  1. $21
Gritty, medicinal, almost reduced aromas of blueberry are devoid of softness, while the palate is also kind of tight and tough. Seems more clipped and underdone than the 2005, with narrow tannins and a medicinal burn. Has its merits and its intentions seem true, but something’s not quite clicking here.  — M.S.  (5/1/2010)
