La Bastide Saint Dominique 2008 Chloris Red (Châteauneuf-du-Pape)

This is a lovely effort from a challenging vintage, offering up tarry notes that turn plummy and round with air. It’s full-bodied without going over the top, with a long, concentrated finish framed by silky tannins. Drink now–2018.  — J.C.  (8/1/2011)

La Bastide Saint Dominique 2003 Red (Châteauneuf-du-Pape)

  1. $30
A finely structured wine, with dusty tannins, delicious fresh, purple fruits and fine acidity. Great perfumes set the scene for a poised, intense wine that is high in alcohol (15%) but does not taste like it. Imported by Simon N Cellars.  — R.V.  (12/31/2005)

La Bastide Saint Dominique 2008 Jules Rochebonne Red (Côtes du Rhône)

This cuvée is 80% Syrah aged in oak, and it shows in the wine’s pungent notes of espresso, black olive and cured meat (the balance is tank-aged Grenache). Drink this full-bodied Côtes du Rhône over the next several years.  — J.C.  (8/1/2011)
